My oldest brother commissioned me to craft him a kayak paddle.

Consulting him and his boating needs, we decided on a simple design with inline blades. Using poplar, ash, and walnut for the body of the paddle, we inlayed a nylon soaked paracord around the edge to add strength and protection. The paddle was then coated in fiberglass and given several clear coats to protect form the elements.

Working on plans for a version 2.0, this was a wonderful project and a personal challenge of my woodworking skills. I’m excited to start crafting the next version for my big brother.
